DBpedia Spotlight at the MSM2013 Challenge

چکیده
DBpedia Spotlight [5] is an open source project developing a system for automatically annotating natural language text with entities and concepts from the DBpedia knowledge base. The input of the process is a portion of natural language text, and the output is a set of annotations associating entity or concept identifiers (DBpedia URIs) to particular positions in the input text. DBpedia Spotlight provides programmatic interfaces for phrase recognition and disambiguation (entity linking), including a Web API supporting various output formats (XML, JSON, RDF, etc.) The annotations generated by DBpedia Spotlight may refer to any of 3.77 million things in DBpedia, out of which 2.35 million are classified according to a cross-domain ontology with 360 classes. Through identity links, DBpedia also provides links to entities in more than 100 other languages, and tens of other data sets. This paper describes our application of DBpedia Spotlight to the challenge of extracting Person (PER), Location (LOC), Organization (ORG) and Miscellaneous (MISC) entities from microposts (e.g. tweets) as part of the MSM2013 Challenge at WWW2013. All of the code used in this submission is available as Open Source Software, and all of the data used is shared as Open Data. A description of the software, data sets and more detailed evaluations are available from our supporting material page at http://spotlight.dbpedia.org/research/msm2013/.

متن کاملDomain-aware Matching of Events to DBpedia
In this paper, we present our work on the enrichment of the EventMedia dataset as provided by the DeRiVE data challenge with links to DBpedia. Our main contribution is an exploration into the use of domain knowledge in the matching process. As a starting point we take DBpedia Spotlight, an off-the-shelf tool for matching textual resources to DBpedia. We present a bootstrap method to automatical...
متن کاملELES: Combining Entity Linking and Entity Summarization
The automatic annotation of textual content with entities from a knowledge base is a well established field. Applications, such as DBpedia Spotlight and GATE enable to identify and disambiguate entities of text at high levels of accuracy. The output of such systems can be used in many different ways. One way is to show knowledge panels which provide a fact-based summary of an entity and provide...
متن کاملThe German DBpedia: A Sense Repository for Linking Entities
The modeling of lexico-semantic resources by means of ontologies is an established practice. Similarly, general-purpose knowledge bases are available, e.g. DBpedia, the nucleus for the Web of Data. In this section, we provide a brief introduction to DBpedia and describe recent internationalization efforts (including the creation of a German version) around it. With DBpedia serving as an entity ...

This article introduces spotlight tiling, a type of covering which is similar to tiling. The distinguishing aspects of spotlight tiling are that the “tiles” have elastic size, and that the order of placement is significant. Spotlight tilings are decompositions, or coverings, and can be considered dynamic as compared to typical static tiling methods. A thorough examination of spotlight tilings o...
